Precious Metals Exchange

Not long ago, a new metals based Exchange Traded Fund began trading on the Amex. StreetTRACKS Gold (GLD), iShares Comex Gold Trust (IAU) and iShares Silver Trust (SLV) are all known by those who follow the Exchange Traded Fund Industry. You might have missed the launch of these funds because it happened during the most precipitous drops in precious metal prices.
The Gold Miners ETF is one of a kind and it is too bad the launch was do downplayed. Although it is different that he IAU, SLV and GLD funds, it is related to the industry of precious metals and they are all have prices based on either gold or silver.
Offering investors exposure to the gold-mining equity market in the United States, Ames Gold Miners Index is obviously the first exchange traded fund. As mining-related shares tend to move more dramatically than bullion, this new ETF may give added opportunities to benefit from volatility. One more important difference is that it is optionable, which GDX and GDL are not.
